Willie "Granny" Burnette, 75, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 28, 2014.

She had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed taking trips to different Casinos and just enjoying life, but her true passion and drive was taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Burnette and sister, Geraldine Caldwell.

Survivors include her five children, Eddie Burnette, Tim Burnette, Regina Sutton, Charlie Burnette and Donna Burnette all of Chattanooga, TN; three step-daughters, Gail Hilton of Rossville, GA, Louise Ratliff of LaFayette, GA and Susie Peterson of Chattanooga, TN; 9 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and numerous extended family & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. John Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Sunday, all day Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
